J14 Studio

J14 HQ

The J14 studio was found this year in January 2020. Within 2 weeks of finding a place to call home, construction started. 8 weeks later and a basement turned into the studio that you see before you. A lot of hard work, late nights and a creativity was put in to come up with a functional design that was made warm and welcoming. It is a space that is designed to get the best performance out of any artist or musician.

The Rooms

Control room

The control room is the heart of the studio. It’s where ideas flow from, it’s where the band get together and hear what is being recorded, it’s where creativity flows from. Its the heart of the studio.

We have created a space large enough to make people feel comfortable and welcome. It gives the option to have a full band playing with the keys and bass in the control room.

Vocal Booth

The vocal booth is a small room that is heavily treated to give a dry sound. Softer lights are used to create a great experience, acoustic treatment is placed with a vocal reflection filter to achieve as dry a sound as possible. Acoustic guitars sound great in here and also electric guitars.

Drum Room

When designing the layout of the studio, we wanted to give the drum room as much space as we thought possible. There is nothing worse than working in a tight space, feeling confined and not enjoying the environment you are playing in. The drum has that. There is still a live feel to it without it becoming to too overwhelming. The room is treated to still control the high frequencies of the symbols and the lows of the kick.
