J14 has been started with the sole aim of recording great sounding material and giving artists the chance to get the music they have created, out there. Thats the heart and soul behind J14. To give you a platform for your music.

Whats involved

1st meeting

Firstly we will have a chat to see what it is you want to record, this can be at a coffee shop or somewhere that suits you. We find out your budget, the timeline that is required and if its a single, EP or album. From there we put together a plan of what the project will look like from start to finish so we know whats expected.

Pre Production

Then we head into pre production, have a listen to the tracks together and get a better understanding of the songs from a production and also an engineering point of view. This way we can make best use of the recording time to get the best possible sound for you or your band. 

Recording

Next we start recording and use the plan that has been created in the pre production meetings! Sometimes in the studio, not everything goes to plan! Thats ok. Our job at J14 is to create the best possible music for you, the artist. We want to make sure its right. If we have to spend a little more time on the electric guitar part compared to other instruments, then thats ok. That could make the difference of you being happy with the finished song and being delighted and proud of what has been created. 

Mastering

Lastly, the track is sent to mastering to bring it up to iTunes and CD ready standard. Our mastering engineer has a long list of artists he has worked on for over 20 years. Using various analog techniques and plug in emulations, the sound is something that you will be delighted with.
